2' Extra Feet - New Kitchen's Layout - No Big Deal?

26' Kitchen Triangle
This is often stated to be the length desired for a kitchen's triangle.

24' Kitchen Triangle?
Another source stated 24' to be the max length for a kitchen's triangle. Modern kitchen's with multiple cooks may have other factors which apply to make this standard kitchen triangle length not applicable. Understand - A kitchen's triangle is very important! Why?

Perhaps a math lesson may help us understand why an efficient kitchen triangle is important.

26' versus 24' = 2'

You can substitute your own new number here - my wife averages 500 times a day pacing our kitchen's triangle.

2' x 500 = 1000 feet per day

1000 feet per day x 365 days of the year = 365,000 feet per year!

72 - 76 years is the average person's life time.

Going with the lower number - 72 x 365,000 = 26,280,000 million extra feet walked with only two extra feet added to the total kitchen triangle length in one person's life time!

Looking at the bright side of things
- It is only 4, 978 extra miles!

Does this help to visualize the importance of an efficient kitchen?
What if the kitchen triangle layout length added 10 extra feet?
